Find your inspiration next to a beautiful beach in Hoy, Orkney.  From the comfort of our studio overlooking the bay we will Get Creative using a variety of art & craft techniques & media.

Your friendly & patient experienced tutor is qualified to Masters Level in Fine Art & will soon chase away your art inhibitions so you gain confidence in stretching your creativity.

Complete novices are welcome, but more experienced artists will also find the session inspiring.

Inspiration is in abundance in this location right outside the window - huge skies, sea birds, whales, seashells & wildflower headlands which surround our studio. All materials are provided.

Information on Accommodation & Transport from the ferry is available on request. If you wish to stay for a light Lunch after the class please let us know & this can be arranged.

From the studio there is a spectacular scenic circular coastal walk taking in the sheltered waters & white sand beach of Viking harbour Kirkhope Bay, shells, Osmundwall War Graves & Lighthouse Memorial, Cantick Lighthouse, Wildlife Nature Reserve for native Scottish Primroses, dragon & damselflies, birds, views across Pentland Firth to Scottish mainland & other Orkney islands, cliffs, waterfall, Neolithic chambers, seals, swirling sea, fresh air & huge skies.

Hoy landscape is famous for the sea stack ‘Old Man Of Hoy’ & the romantic Rackwick Bay. There is an RSPB bird reserve on the island & also a Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve next to the studio. Viking, Neolithic & wartime heritage is in abundance. The location is great for bird watching & orcas, humpbacked whales, dolphins & seals have been spotted in the Bay from the studio window.

There are two ferries from mainland Orkney - Houton to Lyness (vehicles & foot passengers) & Stromness to Moaness via Graemsay (foot passengers only). A community bus & taxis provide transport on the island.
