Art Workshop : July 3rd : Drawing & Painting Shoreline Birds
In this workshop we'll be taking our inspiration from the work of Adele Pound whose paintings are in the current exhibition. Her subjects include little egrets, gulls, eider ducks, Brent geese & golden plover.
Today we'll be focussing on the Black Tailed Godwit & producing sketches & paintings based on this beautiful bird, picking up tips from Adele's style of drawing & painting. This is a chance for you to take a closer look at Adele's work & to spend time considering the techniques she uses. This is an opportunity to experiment & play with tools & materials & to explore mixed media & watercolour paint.
It's ideal if you're a beginner, so don't worry if you're new to it all, but if you have experience, then this will also inspire you to produce some lovely work. There's also time to take in the incredible view from the gallery in which you will be working - right next to the beach overlooking chatty oystercatchers & eider ducks in a quiet sheltered bay.
The session runs from 11 till 3, so please bring something for a working lunch which we will take in the gallery overlooking the bay. If you'd like to take a short scenic walk while you're here, then the beach is just outside & there is an easy coastal walk along the lane towards the lighthouse at Cantick Head.
All tools & materials are provided. Tea, coffee & smiles are available all day!
